To help enhance the color of your lipstick and keep it from fading too quickly, an effective makeup tip is to start with lip liner. Begin by outlining the edge of your lips. If your goal is to make your lips appear smaller, create the line on the inside of your lips. Avoid drawing the line outside of your natural lip line, as this can result in an artificial appearance. To extend the life of your lipstick, add some liner to the entire lip area.

When selecting the shade of your liner, try to match it to the color of your lipstick for optimum blending-remember, the ultimate goal is for the lip liner to be subtle, not obvious.
