At your child’s well-baby exams, your doctor will measure your baby’s length, weight and head circumference. Your baby will also get a thorough physical examination, including the head, ears, eyes, mouth, skin, heart and lungs, stomach, hips and legs and genitals. Your baby will also be given vaccinations during these visits.
Most likely you will have questions for you doctor and your doctor will also have questions for you to help keep your baby’s health on track. Some common questions your doctor might have for you at a well-baby visit:
- How often do you feed your baby?
- How many diapers does your baby go through a day?
- How many hours does your baby sleep during the day?
- How many hours does your baby sleep during the night?
Just as with your own doctor visits, it’s a good idea to bring pen and paper to bring questions you have for your doctor and to take notes during the visit.
