Before strollers became one of the most common methods for transporting baby, slings were the main way to get baby around. Now they are making a comeback and they're everywhere. You can see moms and dads sporting these with baby inside around town—at the grocery store, picking up a cup of coffee, at the park. So, if you are considering using a baby sling as an alternative to strollers or even in addition to strollers, consider these much-touted benefits:
- Frees up the parent’s hands to perform tasks and care for other children
- Keeps the parent “in tune” with baby, so it’s easier to decipher what baby wants
- Encourages bonding with baby
- Reduces fussiness and crying
- Helps baby fall asleep faster
Whichever you choose, stroller or baby sling or a combination of the two, the main objective is to get baby from point A to point B safely and either of these will do the job.
