Sometimes the flowers you have from a special occasion are just too beautiful to part with. The perfect solution is to dry them so you can enjoy them for years to come. Many types of flowers can be dried and there are many different ways to dry flowers.
As strange as it sounds, water-drying is one of many ways to dry flowers. Place the flower stems in a few inches of water. Keep the vase in a dry, warm, dark area. Then all you have to do is let the water evaporate and be taken in by the cut flowers. A more common method for drying flowers is air-drying them. For this method, trim the stems to your desired length, tie the stems together and then tie the bottom of the stems to a hanger (twine or even dental floss will do). Hang them in a dark, dry area with good air circulation. Darkness is important not only for the drying process but it actually helps preserve the flower’s color. It will take two to three weeks before they are ready to use.
