Your friends and family always have a great time at your Thanksgiving parties. While you know that just being able to spend time with loved ones will make the day a success, you want to do something to make this year even better. Why not start a new tradition of having a party with a different theme each year? If you can't decide on a theme, try some of these themed Thanksgiving tips.
One fun idea is to have guests come dressed in a costume from a specific era. Have music from that era playing in the background and serve a few dishes or beverages that were popular during that time period. If you aren't sure which decade to start with, consider the 1920's, complete with flappers and gangsters, or the 70's, which came with tie dye and peace signs. If the family has fun, you can build on your themed party idea by choosing a different decade each year.
If dressing up isn't your family's thing, throw a cuisines-of-the-world Thanksgiving. Keep a few very special dishes on the menu, but replace less important dishes with food from other cultures. For extra fun, prepare a few craft projects from other cultures for the kids to work on after dinner is over.
