If you have pregnancy problems that your doctor has deemed serious enough to warrant bed rest, then try to make the best of it. Further aggravating your physical problems with stress or negative emotions will not contribute to your well-being. Just think about it, at any other time in your life if you were told to just rest, you would be ecstatic, right? But now when it’s doctor’s orders, all you want to do is the opposite of rest and get up and move around! To keep your sanity while on bed rest, tackle light tasks. Use this time to get organized. While not physically taxing, going through paper files, your agenda and to-do lists will keep your mind occupied while accomplishing tasks you would have to do anyway, bed rest or not. You could also use this time to organize any photo albums or scrapbooks that you’ve been “meaning” to get to but never did. Well, now you can.
