So, your belly is getting bigger and the days counting down to your due date are getting shorter. Now is a great time to start preparing for labor and delivery by putting together a birthing plan. A birthing plan is basically your ideal childbirth scenario. It’s good to go over it with your doctor and partner to discuss how you want things to be once you are in labor. These can include things like who, if anyone, you want present in the delivery room. This could be your partner, relatives or friends. The birthing plan can also cover issues like your preferences about having an epidural, an episiotomy, or a caesarean. It can include whether you want to have intermittent or continuous electronic fetal monitoring. There are so many other decisions that you can cover in it. It’s a good idea to discuss with your doctor what is best for your birthing plan based on your individual case and medical history.
